SONG CHECK LAB
Privacy Policy
Updated October 18, 2026
This policy describes how Song Check Lab at songchecklab.com handles data when you use the music detection tool.
Audio is uploaded for detection
Selecting a file creates a local audio preview in your browser. When you press “Check this track”, your audio and filename are uploaded over HTTPS to our Cloudflare Worker, which forwards them to ACRCloud for analysis. Detection does not take place entirely in your browser. The tool does not accept pasted audio or video links.
We do not maintain an audio archive or a scan history in our own application database. ACRCloud receives the submitted audio and returns the detection result; its processing and retention are governed separately by its privacy policy. We cannot promise immediate deletion of audio held by ACRCloud. Only submit audio you have permission to share with the analysis service.
Daily limit and cookies
The tool uses a signed, secure, HTTP-only browser cookie to recognize an anonymous browser for the daily limit. The cookie expires after one year. Our Cloudflare D1 database stores a hashed browser identifier, a UTC calendar date and a usage count. It does not store your audio or the detection result. The limit is three submissions per browser per UTC day; clearing cookies or changing browsers can reset browser identity. We have not configured automatic deletion of old quota records.
Hosting and technical data
Cloudflare hosts the site and processes requests, including IP addresses and request metadata needed to deliver and protect it. Our Worker does not intentionally log audio or enable application request logging. Cloudflare may process operational and security data under its own privacy policy.
Advertising
We plan to display third-party advertising in the future. No advertising scripts are currently installed. Before adding an advertising provider, we will update this policy to identify the provider and explain its cookies and data practices, and add any consent controls required for that integration.
Contact messages
If you email us, Cloudflare Email Routing forwards the message to the site owner’s Hotmail inbox. Your email address, message and any attachments are processed by these services so we can respond. Do not email audio or other sensitive files unless needed for an agreed support request.
Questions and requests
For privacy questions or requests about information you have sent us, use the contact page. We will explain what information we can identify and control; we cannot promise to identify a past anonymous scan.
